June 19th Gala celebrates “Parenting with Passion” TV series

A gala red carpet event is scheduled to launch the new KWCS series “Parenting with Passion”. Invited guests and media will have the opportunity to view highlights of the upcoming series, and to meet Heidi Balsillie, philanthropist and recent Paul Harris Award winner; and Deb DeJong, creator of the series and Director of Family & Community Solutions at KW Counselling Services.

About the series:

This 8-part TV series is based on “Parenting with Passion”, a nationally recognized parenting program offered by KW Counselling Services. It features Barbara Coloroso and fascinating interviews with David Suzuki, Craig Kielburger, Walter Gretzky, Jim and Heidi Balsillie, Justin Hines, Silken Laumann and other celebrated Canadians as they explore what determines healthy, thriving and resilient children. They share their experiences and insights about the importance of child and adult relationships, and how even one adult can be a crucial, positive influence on a child’s future success. "A coach, bus driver, neighbour, or parent can all make a difference in a child's future success. It sounds simple, but it really can change the world," says Executive Director Leslie Josling. Topics include raising boys, cohesive neighbourhoods, our special children and parenting in two cultures.
