
OK2BME - Services for LGBTQ Youth and Their Families
OK2BME is a set of support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) kids and teens (ages 5-18), their families, and children (ages 5-18) of LGBTQ parents living in Waterloo Region. Services include: LGBTQ-positive individual and family counselling; social and recreational groups; public education; outreach events; consultation and collaboration; and, help establishing Gay-Straight Alliances and other similar initiatives in local schools. Referral Process: Referrals can be made by individuals, a variety of professionals (teachers, guidance counsellors, youth workers, etc.) or by contacting Brooke Young, OK2BME Project Coordinator at 519-884-0000 x212. Services can also be accessed through our Walk-In Counselling Clinic .
